The John Dumelo V8 saga is about to be resurrected by special Prosecutor Martin Amidu. Mr Martin Amidu, who earned the name citizen vigilante for his fearless campaign against corruption, has given a hint that he would be prosecuting Dumelo and other celebrities and journalists who might have illegally acquired state vehicles under the previous government.
The famous Ghanaian actor Dumelo was interrogated by state security officials sometime ago for allegedly acquiring two V8 cars under the previous government, which were subsequently impounded.
The actor claimed he purchased the vehicles and was in the process of having it sprayed when it was retrieved.
According to Odeneho Nana Oppong, who is the Director in charge of Transport and Logistics at the Presidency, they have acquired evidence Dumelo illegally acquired the cars and that would be handed over to Amidu once he commences his work.
“We now have enough evidence of his illegal acquisition of the cars. John Dumelo together with other journalists will face the Special Prosecutor.” he said on Neat Fm Monday.
