An American pay television over-the-top media service and original programming production company, Netflix has announced that the new South Korean blockbuster Squid Game has made history with amazing views.

Squid game is a South Korean survival drama television series streaming on Netflix and written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, currently trending. Netflix has taken to their verified account on the bird app Twitter to disclosed that Squid Game is the biggest series on their platform.

Netflix has announced that Squid Game has o far gathered 111 million views and is also the first to surpass 100 million views since premiering.

The tweeted saying, “Squid Game has officially reached 111 million fans — making it our biggest series launch ever!

The show takes its name from a popular gameplay in Korean school playgrounds in which children run towards a finish line when “green light” is shouted out and freeze when the words “red light” are called. However, in Squid Game the players are shot dead.

Squid Game is a series that was launched four weeks ago and has topped the chart in more than 80 countries. It starred Lee Jung-jae as Gi-hun · Park Hae-soo as Sang-woo, Anupam Tripathi as Ali · Oh Yeong-su as Il-nam · Jung Ho-yeon as Sae-byeok.
