The status of legendary basketball player Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna has been unveiled to mark the second anniversary.

The legendary basketball player has been honored with a 160-pound statue, created by sculptor Dan Medina, which was set up on Wednesday exactly two years after the sports legend and his 13-year-old daughter died with seven others after their helicopter crash.

The statue made to honor Kobe also has the names of everyone who perished in the helicopter crash in California 2 years ago. It has been reported by La Times that a lot of people gathered under the statue to pay tribute to the fallen hero, his 13-year-old daughter, and the other heroes who died alongside.

The death of the 41-year-old basketball player hit the world. People all over the world expressed shock and grief after the news of the death of Byrant and his daughter Gianna was reported.

On the anniversary of his death Wednesday, fans and teammates posted tributes to Bryant on social media. 

“I know many of you are out there and you miss him and still wish to see his brilliance on the court, and what he was doing as a dad,” said Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, a six-time NBA champ who used to play for the Lakers. 

“It was wonderful the way he was coaching girls and getting them into the game. I hope all of you out there remember him the way you should and give your prayers to his wife and family.”

Kobe Bean Bryant was an American professional basketball player, a shooting guard who spent his entire 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association.
