UK rapper Stefflon Don reserved some encouraging words for her Nigerian boyfriend Burna Boy after he missed out on the 2020 edition of the Grammy Awards.
Angelique Kidjo beat Burna Boy to win the World Best Music Album award at the 62nd Grammy which was held on Sunday January 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Stefflon Don took to InstaStories to assure Burna Boy that despite the loss, he still remains his biggest champion.
She wrote, ‘still my winner, numero uno‘.
Despite the loss, Burna Boy joins an enviable league of Nigerians who have been nominated for the Grammys in the past. He is now in the same bracket as Seun Kuti, Femi Kuti and King Sunny Ade in getting listed in that category at the Grammy Awards.
Other Nigerian Grammy nominees include, Babatune Olatunji, Wizkid, Timaya and Kah Lo. Sikiru Adepoju won the Grammy Awards in 1991 and 2009.
