“Stop Calling Me Odogwu, My Name Is OBO” – Davido Tells Fans

Songwriter and singer Davido has cleared himself with his fans in a recent video he made.

According to Davido, he dislikes it if his fans refer him with Burna Boy‘s title “Odogwu”. In a recent video from Davido, he is seen telling his fans not to address him with any name related to Burna Boy

. He stated that only wants to be called OBO because that’s the only name he enjoys being called.

The name “Odogwu” came about when popular Nigerian artist Burna Boy released a song titled “Odogwu”. After the release of the track, he adopted the name and was since referred to as Odogwu.

The name Odogwu is literally given to someone who helps, a cheerful giver and selfless person. Most Nigerians thought Davido was a giver and helps people more than Burna Boy hence gave the name to Davido, stripping the name off Burna Boy.

However, Davido has taken to his Instagram to announce that he only wants to be referred to as “OBO” rather than Odogwu.
