Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong has petitioned the Supreme Court to cease the proceedings of contempt against him.

The lawyers of the member of Parliament has filed a review application at the Supreme Court to order the stop of the High Court from hearing the contempt case and also trash the order of summons for him to appear before the court on the basis that the particular court (Land court 12) that summoned him has no jurisdiction to do so.

According to the application filed by the Member of Parliament through his lawyers, his comments were not in connection to Justice Amos Wuntah Wuni of Land Court 12 as purported but rather against a different judge of which he has rendered an apology.
