Award-winning singer, Efya has voiced out her disdain over foreign artistes stealing from young African creatives.

Over the years there have been cases of multi-talented artistes complaining of cultural appropriation and their projects being stolen by global artistes.

Efya seemed provoked by the rate at which global artistes are ripping off these young African artistes and taking credit for it. To her, some of these established artistes have become entitled to the visions and development of young acts and continuously use it as a medium to rip them off without compensation or appreciation.

Although she refused to mention names, we are confident those in the business of stealing from young African creatives have got the message and will take a different approach which will benefit the originator and themselves or else they would have to deal with her.
