A piece of sad news available to ghgossip.com has that a 30-year-old taxi driver identified as Ernest Essuman has been found dead at Akyempim in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality and his vehicle taken away by the suspected criminals.

According to reports, the crime was committed in the late hours of Sunday, 23rd May 2021.

According to the District Police Commander in Charge of Tarkwa, who verified the event to the Ghana News Agency, the police received information about the event from an informant at approximately 2230 hours and went to the scene with several police officers.

Chief Superintendent of Police Thomas Osei Ababio said that officers discovered Essuman’s lifeless corpse in a pool of blood outside the Driver Vehicle and Licensing Authority office in Akyempim on the Tarkwa-Takoradi highway, but were unable to locate the taxi cab he was driving.

He said the vehicle’s owner afterward identified it as a Toyota Corolla with the registration number GG 3189-19.

He also stated that Tarkwa police have begun investigations into the incident to bring the criminals to book and also locate the whereabouts of the stolen car.

Also, the deceased’s corpse has been deposited at the Tarkwa Municipal Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

He further advised drivers to be extra cautious while on the road and urged the people to be each other’s keeper in order to assist the Ghana Police Service in apprehending offenders.
