The Tema Traditional Council (TTC) has forbidden the Tema West Member of Parliament (MP) Carlos Ahenkorah from visiting the palace on grounds that he has never respected the council.

The Shipi of the Tema Traditional Council Nii Armah Somponu III stated empahtically that even if Carlos Ahenkorah visits the Palace with the President, Nana Addo, he will politely show him out in order not to embarrass the President.

On behalf of the Tema Traditional Council, Nii Somponu III told the Member of Parliament for Tema East Daniel Titus Glover the decision of the council when the MP called on the Council at Tema Newtown to make a donation towards the Homowo Festival.

Speaking in Ga, Nii Somponu said “But let me be clear with you and say this once again: we (TTC) do not want to see Carlos Ahenkorah, your (in reference to Titus Glover), here at the palace. His demonstration of attitude since he became the MP for Tema West towards us (TTC) is clear that he doesn’t respect or recognize us and the paramountcy.”

“If we see him at the palace, I can bet you that we will embarrass him in the full glare of the people. If, on the other hand, he plays smart to accompany the President to this place or our event, we will politely sack him to save the image of the President.”

Pleading on behalf of Carlos Ahenkorah, Ttus Glover said, “I will call my brother to have a word with him so that. as soon as possible, whatever the matter is would be resolved for the sake of peace and developement. You are our elders, and so i plead for pardon”.

But Nii Somponu III sharply interrupted him saying “we have not asked you to deliver our message to him (Carlos Ahenkorah). We have openly told you this because you have always revered the stool and paramountcy since you became MP, but your friend, wish him well”.
