Nigerian author and politician, Reno Omokri has urged the southern states to be up and doing to depend on themselves for their own food supply.
According to him, it is through adversity that character is built so the banning of the food stuffs from the North to the South can propel the southern states to fend for themselves and become independent.
Taking to his twitter page he wrote:
Before the 1973 Arab oil embargo, 90% of Denmark’s energy was from petroleum. After the Arab Oil Embargo, Denmark switched to renewable energy. Today, they export excess power. The food embargo should make Southern states think of becoming self sufficient in food!
I have no sympathy for Southern states over the Northern food embargo. Southern Nigeria is one of the largest consumers of French champagne. We have money.We just like to consume. Let the embargo force us to become prosumers: people who consume what they produce
