The Government Has Failed Us

Popular actor, Alex Ekubo has lashed out at the government of Nigeria for its appalling governance in dealing with poverty.

The actor shared a photo of a young guy on a canoe as he paddled with a long stick and lamented about the bad conditions of the lives of people living in the slum areas.

He called out the government for its the lack of care and policies to alleviate the normal people from poverty.

Sharing the photo he wrote: Dear Nigerian Leaders, past & present, you have failed & still continue to fail us.
How long will we continue to live in Abysmal living conditions & abject poverty in the midst of plenty. This is totally unacceptable, yesterday’s outreach with the @g1st_int_foundation to Makoko still has me shook, that in 2021 our brothers & sisters are literally eating & sleeping in the gutter.
No! No!! Nooooo!!! This is unacceptable, watch my previous video to have an idea what i’m talking about, & that is the “not so bad” area, it gets really worse.

stood out for me because despite his environment he is still putting on the Nigerian jersey, he still believes in the idea of this country that has deliberately decided to fail him over & over again, like they did his parents & grandparents.
My heart bleeds for Nigeria, why are we soo wicked to each other, what have we done to our leaders that can not be forgiven, why have they chosen to ridicule, impoverish & embarrass us on every level.

I am sick to my stomach! 🤢🤮
