Dr. Paa Kwasi Baidoo, the chairman of Ashanti Regional Ghana Medical Association has called on Ghana Education Service GES to reconsider their decision as the put students in schools despite covid19 cases in secondary schools.

He noted that it’s surprising why Ghana insists on keeping students in school because of examination while other countries have pulled out of this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

He disclosed that the GES is putting the lives of students at risk.

“Is the exams we are conducting worth the life of our students? you don’t have to have an entire school testing positive before you think it is serious. In Ghana, we think the examination is more important than the life of our students when Nigeria has pulled out of the exams. The loss of that student at KNUST SHS is shameful to a country like Ghana,” he explained.

Parents who picked up their wards from school after the Senior High School covid19 issue popped up have been served a notice that the student will be isolated during the examination.

This is because they want to ensure that Students coming from home will not put their colleagues lives at risk.
