Afia Schwarzenegger has breathed fire and brimstone into the trending ‘drop that chamber’ social media campaign which is aimed at stopping Ghanaian lawmakers from constructing a new parliamentary block which is reportedly valued at $200m.
The proposed 450-seater capacity chamber, when built, will have a chapel, a mosque, an eatery, and gardens. The current chamber being used by the 275 MPs, according to Sir David Adjaye who designed the new chamber will be converted into a conference centre.
Adding her opinion to the matter in her trademark brash manner, the comedienne and on-air personality said Ghana should legalize the smoking of marijuana because that is the only thing that can make members of parliament come out with such an outrageous decision.
Afia said only weed smokers can make a decision on building a new chamber when Ghana is plagued with several issues we are yet to tackle.
A livid Afia Schwarzenegger asked who even conceived the idea in the first place, adding that we are so doomed to have people who take decisions spontaneously like that.
