The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has stated that the principles of Rawlings are good but they will be impotent if the party is still in opposition.
Speaking to the party faithfuls and sympathizers are the Accra international conference center during a vigil in honour of the late former President, Asiedu Nketia said;

“The principles of Rawlings are good, but they will be impotent if we are in opposition. So the best tribute to President Rawlings is to be committed to the rescue mission. So be fired up by the temporary demise of our founder to win this election and rescue this nation Ghana which was dear to his heart from the very ills he fought against all his life.”
The former President who is also the founder of the NDC died on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra .
