Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has opined in furtherance of the Kasoa Killers saga that there’s now a common ground to deal with the spiritualists and money doublers menace.
According to him, the country has enough laws to deal with such people. He added that since Ghanaians have also contributed to the discussion, calling on policymakers to deal with these juju men, fake pastors, and spiritualists who ‘sell’ wealth to the people on TV, there’s now a common ground to deal with the situation.
“We’ve had reason to draw the attention of various regulators to some content on our media platforms that we think are unwholesome.
We’ve had reason to draw the attention of various regulators that in today’s body of laws, there are enough laws to deal with some of these things, and we think that they have the capacity and legal remit to deal with it now….
We are at a juncture where I think gradually there is common ground now to deal with such issues,” he said on the Point of View on Metro TV.
Meanwhile, Lydia Forson firmly believes poverty is the scourge of the recent ritual killing involving the two teenagers at Kasoa.
News spread wildly over the weekend that two teenagers have killed a 10-year-old boy at Coca Cola, near Lamptey, a suburb of Kasoa in the Central Region. The news has since assumed the centre stage on mainstream and social media as people offer their own interpretations.
Sharing her two cents about it, the highly opinionated Ghanaian actress believes poverty should be pegged as the main contributory factor aside from mallams, prosperity preaching, and advertisement on money rituals which people have also identified as the underlying cause.
