Dowen College has issued a statement in response to the public outcry over a student’s death.

Dowen College expressed its condolences to Sylvester Oromoni’s family and all who adored him in a statement.

The school also stated that it is aiding authorities in their investigation into the incident that resulted in Sylvester’s death. Dowen College, according to the institution, values each and every student.

The school however didn’t comment on the students who were suspected of brutally beating Sylvester to death.

In other news, Oscar Emeremnini, a cab-hailing driver, was assassinated in Lagos by unknown perpetrators suspected of being carjackers.

The Bolt driver was allegedly stabbed multiple times before his Toyota Corolla was taken by his assailants.

According to a source who spoke to Lindaikeji blog, one of the killers pretended to be a passenger and sought the driver’s services about 12 a.m. on Sunday, December 5.

His lifeless remains was later discovered discarded near the Iyana Ipaja bridge.

“His ride was ordered by some unknown persons before 12am this morning, however at about 1 am his corpse was dumped by the foot of Iyana Ipaja bridge and his toyota corolla car was stolen,” the source said.

“He had an axe cut on his fore head, back of the head and his left foot. His corpse was identified upon a call placed by the wife around 1 am when the receiver of the call said the owner of the phone is lying on the road.

“The Gowon Estate Police were too professional in the discharge of their duties, from removing his corpse from the road to depositing the corpse at the Mainland Hospital morgue Yaba.” the source added.
