Ghanaian US-based news commentator, Twene Jonas has been summoned to the Mahyia Palace following his recent attack on the Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu II over the rise of illegal mining in the country.

According to Otumfour’s Nkwantasehene, Nana Boakye Yaw Ababio, Twene Jonas must report himself to the Manhyia Palace and apologize to the Asantehene for insulting him.
During one of his numerous videos that aims at criticizing the ill-governance, Twene Jonas descended heavily on the chiefs who have allowed the operation of illegal mining in communities.
He said; “even the Asantehene said if you are a chief and give people land to illegally mine in return of goat then it’s over to you.”
He further stated that the Asantehene has refused to speak the truth about how illegal mining is destroying water bodies in the Ashanti Region, hence he, Twene Jonas who believes one single truth can conquer lies has devoted his life to speak the truth.

Well, after his video went viral, a concerned resident of the Kumasi rained curses on him for insulting the Asantehene. According to him, if Twene Jonas has even stepped a foot in the Ashanti Region and yet had the guts to insult their king, the gods(Antoa) will deal with him mercilessly.
Also, the Nkwantasehene, Nana Boakye Yaw Ababio has advised Twene Jonas to fly from the US to the Manhyia Palace and apologize to the Asantehene for his comment.
