Until when will human beings learn from past mistakes? In october 2019, BBC released videos of University Lecturers who demand se.x from female students before giving them good grades ( #sekzForGrades ).

The video caused a serious shakedown in some popular universities in West Africa, especially Ghana and Nigeria as the act does not fall in line with the rules governing the institution.

Just when we thought it’s over, a Nigerian university student has released an audio of a lecturer who has been constantly harrasing her sekzually all in the name of ” passing ” her.

Motunrayo Afolayan, a student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has accused the lecturer, Olabisi Olaleye ( a lecturer of International Relations ) of threatening to fail her in his course for refusing to sleep with him.

Reports gathered is that the lecturer intentionally failed Monturayo in his Diplomacy IRS 305 course. Monturayo, who needed to pass, registered to take course again. It was that period that the lecturer began sending her messages, threatening to fail her dozen times until she gives herself to him.

The student who was living in fear and panic reported the case to a lecturer by name Sunday Omotuyi but he refused to help her. A close source revealed that Omotuyi refused to help the student because he has had a similar encounter with Olaleye which didn’t end well. He ( Olayele ) branded him as ” too junior to talk to him ” and even added that the student can go to the VC to report, he will still fail her.

When the source was asked how the audio came out, he said:

“So, she was in Olaleye’s office and just as predicted, Olaleye held her by the hand and began to fondle her. While he was carried away, the lady turned on the voice recording application on her phone and taped all his vulgar words including the threat.”

Monturayo reported the case to a female law lecturer who advised her to report to the higher authorities. Investigations led to the release of the audio where Olayele was heard in Yoruba saying “I promise you would fail this course three times except you sleep with me”

Olayele after learning of a released audio of him, quickly released Monturayo’s result which showed that she has passed the course. The lecturer has been called to meet the school authorities with Monturayo, Sunday Omotuyi and other ladies who have also stepped up to testify against the lecturer.

Olayele who was interviewed by the media, refuted claims that he wanted to have se.x with the student nor held her papers. He said:

“I didn’t know her until the timetable issue came up.

“She approached me with two other ladies but I told them I could not help. I only advised them to go and write their 400 level course first, and return to join us in the hall for my course.” He further added that his colleagues delayed in the accreditation of her results.
