You will recall that a Nigerian woman, Maryam Sanda was sentenced by the Federal Capital Territory High Court to death for the murder of her husband Bilyamin Mohammed Bello.
As reported earlier, in 2017, Maryam Sanda was arrested and accused of stabbing Bello to death after a minor misunderstanding ensued between them in their marital home.
Bello was the nephew of Haliru Mohammed, a former national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

After a series of court hearings, the widow was finally sentenced to death by hanging after she was found guilty by the court.
Immediately after the sentence, Maryam Sanda was escorted out of the court by the correctional centre officials for her sentence to begin.
