Victor Osimhen could miss Napoli’s Europa League group stage opening next week due to complications with the COVID-19 protocols in the United Kingdom.
On Thursday, September 16, 2021, Napoli will travel to England to face Leicester City in Matchday One of the group stage.
Nigerians would be watching the game since Osmihen will be faced his Leicester City teammates Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho.
The attacker, on the other hand, is in danger of missing the game since he spent the international break in Cape Verde, one of the countries on the UK’s red list.

After visiting one of the red-listed countries, COVID-19 protocols necessitate a required 10-day quarantine period upon arrival in England.
David Ospina, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Amir Rrahmani are among the Napoli players who have visited nations on the red list and may not be able to play in that match.
“There are a number of Napoli players coming back from red-list countries, and under English law they won’t be able to play, so will the game be stopped?” Antonio D’Amore, director of the Naples health authority is quoted to say by Daily Mail.
“That is a question for the UK authorities to answer.”

Because of this rule, Super Eagles players living in the United Kingdom did not travel to Cape Verde with their teammates.
After the game against Liberia, all eight of them flew back to their base.
