VIDEO: George Floyd's Family Reacts To Derek Chauvin's Sentence

Videos of how the family of the late George Floyd reacted to the news of the sentence of Derek Chauvin after he was found guilty of the murder of the ‘Black man’ has hit the internet.

A court today in Minnesota sentenced the former police officer who was involved the murder of George Floyd to 75 years in prison after he was found guilty of all the three charges that was leveled against him.

George Floyd was murdered in June 2020 in front of a local market after the then police officer, Derek Chauvin pinned him down with his knee for about 12 minutes. Reports says the victim shouted several times that he can’t breath by Chauvin decided to ignore him as pin him down with his knee on his neck.

His death was met with a lot protests in the United States and some parts of Europe as ‘Black’ people and sympathizers took to the streets to protest against police brutalities against ‘Black’ people in the country.

The protests across the United States later turned ‘ugly’ when some protestors started burning private and public properties and looting out stores. Some too attacked some unarmed civilians along the way.

Earlier in the day, Derek Chauvin was sentenced to 75 years in prison as he was found guilty to all the three charges against him; 2nd Degree murder, 3rd Degree murder and 2nd Degree manslaughter.

The whole ‘Black’ community was waiting patiently for the outcome of the court proceedings and it seems fair that ‘justice has been served’. The family of the late George Floyd gathered in several places before the judge gave out his ruling.
