Ghanaian singer Efya, has revealed that Wizkid never signed him to his Starboy label, contrary widespread belief.
During a memorable performance at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in 2016, Wizkid enthusiastically announced to the charged audience that he had signed Efya, together with R2bees and Mr Eazi for Starboy Worldwide.
But explaining what the said deal entails, Efya has pointed out that Starboy Worldwide was only a collaborative effort by like-minded artistes with the aim of projecting African music which is not owned by any of them. According to her, it is more of an affiliation of the record labels of the four musicians and nothing more.
She further said she’s rather signed to One Nation Entertainment, which has other up and coming musicians and sound engineers.
