One of the most popular songs back in the days was VIP’s “Ahomka Wom”. This song won them numerous awards and it’s worth the value for us to do a retrospective on this one. The song was even sampled by the Nigerian musical icon, Wizkid for his “Manya” song.

On the other hand, R2Bees is one of the best music duos in Ghana. The hip hop and hiplife duo from Tema is made up of two cousins, Faisal Hakeem, aka Omar Sterling, and Rashid Mugeez, well known as Mugeez. The group was nominated at the 2013 BET Awards and even to date, they have some of the most popular jams on the streets at the moment.

Saddick Adams has taken to the microblogging platform, Twitter to reveal that V.I.P’s “Ahomka Wom” was much more popular in some African countries like Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and Liberia than R2Bees’ biggest song in Ghana.

He wrote; I love R2bees to bits. But I think Ahomka Wom by VIP was popular in Ivory Coast, Liberia, Sierra Leone and most particularly Nigeria than R2bees biggest song was in Ghana. Isn’t it still the most sold album (cassette) till date Don’t argue on this if you’re below 30 years.
