Embattled trainees of the Nation Builders Corp have disclosed their ordeal they are going through as a result of their unpaid allowances.

The trainees are lamenting over the fact that, they are forced to take loans to survive due to the reason that they haven’t been paid for some months now.

A group called Coalition of Nabco Trainees (CONAT) in a statement issued last Friday said “leaders of the Coalition haven’t relented or compromised our legitimate fight for the betterment of Trainees’ conditions of service under this initiative.”

They revealed that, they are highly indebted to the MTN Qwikloan service and are therefore calling on the government to at least make a move and pay the allowances.

According to the president of the group, some trainees under the program have not been paid their stipends for both March and April with a few not paid from November 2018 to April 2019.

“We have engaged management over this issue and the explanation has been that some of us had issues with our details and there was some clean up ongoing. We have on several occasions gone to make these corrections but we still have not been paid. Its taking too long and the situation is seriously affecting us” he said.
