Wendy Shay originally born Wendy Shay is a Ghanaian songstress born to Mr. and Mrs. Addo on 20th February, 1996 in Accra-Ghana.
Wendy Shay as affectionately called by many lost her father at a very tender age so she relocated to Stuttgart, Germany with her three siblings and that was when she developed passion for music at the age of 4 years.
When she relocated. to Stuttgart, she started her education at grade 7 (JHS1) but before her relocation she attended St. Martins De Porres and Morning Star School in Ghana. She also attended a music school in Bernhausen in Germany.
She is a trained midwife by profession, she was practicing midwifery in Germany before relocating back to Ghana to pursue her music career. Rufftown Records introduced her to music when she came to Ghana and was later signed to the label in January 2018.
On June 1st 2018, she released her debut single ”Uber Driver” which was produced by MOG Beatz. After the introduction of her first single, Wendy Shay has channeled out numerous hit songs including ”Astalavista”, ”Bedroom Commando”, ”Masakra” and ”Psalm 35” which features Sarkodie and Kuami Eugene.
Wendy Shay can also brag with numerous awards winning from the likes of Ghana Music Awards UK, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Ghana-Naija Showbiz Awards.
Wendy Shay is a brand ambassador for the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in Ghana and also she has been enstooled as the Ahenemba Hemaa of Gomoa Afransi in the Central Region of Ghana with the stool name ”Queen Ewurabena Ofosu-Hemaa Shay I”
