Any parent will feel extremely happy when his or her kids make his or her proud. Children are gifts from God and as such they should be commended by parents when the need arises.
Okyeame Kwame’s kids, at a recent event at the British Council Hall dazzled a huge audience with their reading skills, to which their father had nothing to do than to applaud them for such a ‘show’.
It was the National Reading Day, and Ghana’s Rap Doctor was invited. He spoke about the importance of reading to which he revealed that he never couldn’t read well whiles he was growing up.
“…, when I was about my daughter’s age, my father used to beat me everyday because I couldn’t read…, he will hit me in the head”, he said.
Okyeame Kwame advised that parents should read to their kids even in the on-set of pregnancy.
Reading is a good skill, it enables one to duly express himself or herself and we think it should be encouraged. Let us commend Okyeame Kwame for that whiles we hope other parents will follow suit.
