One among the numerous British people who stood in line for hours to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Hall was David Beckham.

Many people have flocked to London to see Queen Elizabeth II as she lies in state at Westminster Hall as Great Britain continues to mourn her passing.

On September 16, David Beckham arrived at 2 am and waited in line until Friday afternoon.

As he finally moved to the front of the line and paid his respects to the deceased monarch, he can be seen in an internet video with tears in his eyes.

Later, he explained why he believed making such a gesture was appropriate.

“Her Majesty meant so much in so many different ways,” he told ITV News. “I can speak on my behalf from the amount of times I was able to meet her through my career.

“I was very lucky, I always wanted to represent my country so to represent my country, to be captain of my country and every time we stood there and we wore those three lions shirts and we sang God Save The Queen, that was something that meant so much to us.”
