Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has intim ated why the Real Madrid Academy, which was commissioned in March 2021 is yet to begin admitting students.
The Governor stated that the academy’s tradition of admitting only boys needed to be modified in order to allow girls.
After signing a collaboration validation agreement with Real Madrid for the promotion of sport among children and youths at the Real Madrid Academy.Wike gave his submission over the weekend at the Auditorium of Real Madrid Sport City, Fuerzas Armadas Avenue, 402, Madrid, Spain.
Governor Wike representing Rivers State and Mr. Enrique Sanchez, Executive Vice President of the Real Madrid Foundation, and Mr. Jihad Saade, President of Interact Sports, penned down the mutual agreement.
Wike said “We had to stop to include the girls. We are very ready to kick-start the school and we believe that this is a very good opportunity for our people. We are honoured to be identified with the Real Madrid, it is a good brand for us.”
In other news, Nyesom Wike, has entreated former President Goodluck Jonathan to exercise restraint and stay in the Peoples Democratic Party and defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Wike posited that the opposition PDP has better chances and opportunities than the APC and if he decides to reignite his presidential ambition, PDP is his right choice since the APC are known to be destroyers.
The governor lauded former President Goodluck Jonathan for being a man of integrity who can make the best choice of his political career for himself in the midt of chaos.
