Kelvyn Brown, known professionally as Kelvyn Boy is a Ghanaian Afro-pop musician from Assin Fosu, Central Region of Ghana.
At a time when KiDi and Kuame Eugene were rising astronomically in the music industry on the wings of famed producer Richie, Kelvyn Boy was still living under the shadows of Stonebwoy- his mentor. He wasn’t perturbed as he studied the rudiment of music from the Ghanaian Dancehall artiste who is regarded as one of the best on the African continent.
Unfortunately when he had an inconceivable fracas with Stonebwoy and was consequently bundled out of Burniton Music Group owned by Stonebwoy, the record label under which he was signed, people thought that will be his end.
However he proved his worth as the breakup with the Bhim Nation President proved to be a blessing in disguise. His songs are making waves across the length and breadth of the country and he’s one of the most featured artistes in recent times.
His voice, lyrical prowess and composure will soon take him places beyond the shores of Ghana. If he maintains his current style and add more dynamism to his craft, he’ll remain relevant in the industry for a very long time.
His style of music appeals to a global audience and this is the more reason why we think he will get to the level of Sarkodie, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy sooner than later.
