Yes- Uncle Willi is no more and although circumstances surrounding his death is a bit sketchy, reliable information we picked indicates that he died in his apartment after returning from a party late in the night with blood oozing from his nostrils.
Willie Roi was relatively not a widespread figure in our entertainment industry, well not until he started having issues with Stonebwoy some few months back.
So who was Willie Roi? Willi was a singer, songwriter, multi-Instrumentalist from Ghana, West Africa. He worked with the top artists like Fela, Sunny Ade, Sunny Okussuns, etc as an engineer, producer, keyboardist.
His music was fusion of 12 African and the 12 standard notes in an octave. Until his death, Willi Roi was A&R manager for Zylofon Music and of the Zylofon Arts Club.
He’s fondly remembered for his public spat with Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy when he infamously pitched him against Shatta Wale.
His demeanour earned him a ban from Zylofon FM’s flagship program, Showbiz Agenda and other related activities on the station following clashes with some personalities during radio discussion.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
