The Inspector General of Police has ordered a withdrawal of a lockdown of Accra, Tema, Obuasi and Kumasi over the outbreak of the novel COVID-19.

Some leaked documents which flooded social media stated that the police was putting some strategies in place to lockdown Kumasi, Tema and Obuasi following the rise in the confirmed cases in Ghana.

The document detailed all the strategies that was employed by the police service and other security agencies to maintain a possible lock-down by Monday 30th March, 2020.

However, another release from the police service indicates that the lockdown has been withdrawn with immediate effect.
