Wizkid originally Ayodgi Ibrahim Balogun is a Nigerian singer and songwriter who was born on 16th July, 1990 to Alhaji Muniru Olatuni Balogun and Madam Dolapo Jane Balogun in Surulere Lagos.

He grew up with twelve (12) sister. He began his music career at age 11 and released a collaboration album with a group and his friends at church called ”The Glorious Five”. His mother used to call him ”IB-Boy” short form of Ibrahim.

In 2009, Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E) which is co-owned by Banky W signed Wizkid to the record label. He rose to prominence after his debut single ”Holla At Your Boy” from his first album ”Superstar” made waves in 2011. ”Pakurumo”, ”Oluwa Lo Ni”, ”Tease Me” and ”Bad Guys” were also released as singles from his super star album.

Wizkid became the first Nigerian musician to have over 1 million followers on twitter in February 2014. And in September 2014, he released his second studio album titled ”Ayo” which had songs like ”Joy”, ”On Top Of Your Matter”, ”One Question”, ”Jaiye Jaiye” among others.

Wizkid has won numerous awards including the BET Awards, Ghana Music Awards, The Headies, Nigerian Entertainment Awards, MOBO Awards, Channel O Music Awards and a lot more from the Nigerian Entertainment Industry.

He has also received and ASCAP plaque for his contribution to Drake’s One Dance.

In 2014, Wizkid parted ways with Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment to start his own record label called Star Boy.

He signed a multi-album deal with RCA Records in March 2017. On July 14 2017 he released his third studio album ”Sound From The Other”. He was supported by five singles ”Daddy Yo”, ”Sweet Love”, ”Come Closer”, ”African Bad Gyal” and ”Naughty Ride”. He became the first Afrobeats artist to appear in the 2018 Guiness World Records for his contribution to ”One Dance”

Today he is one of the most commercially successful music artiste from Nigeria. He is one of the richest African stars as named by the Forbes Magazine.

Wizkid has three children with three different baby mama’s.
