Nigerian afrobeat sensation, Wizkid has won the first-ever Grammy for his role in ‘Brown Skin Girl’, a collaboration with Beyonce.

Sikiru Adepoju paved the way for his fellow Nigerians when he won the Best Contemporary World Music Album in 2009. Ever since then, countless Nigerians have scored nominations in one of the most reputable music award schemes.

Wizkid bagged the award for the Best Music Video that featured Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter and Saint JHN.

The award was declared on the Twitter page of the recording Academy on Sunday evening at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards premiere.
