Dagmar Turner, a management consultant and a passionate violinist from the Isle of Wight, was worried that she might lose her dexterous skills following the procedure of removing a tumor in her brain so she suggested they allow her to play her violin during the operation.

King’s College Hospital, where it all happened, a consultant neurosurgeon, Professor Keyoumars Ashkan came up with the plan to help reduce the risk. Surprisingly, she did it so well to ensure the surgeons did not damage the part of her brain which controls the fine movement of her hands.
