Former Ghana International, Joe Addo has named Abedi Ayew Pele as the best ever captain to lead the Black Stars of Ghana.

Named after the legendary Brazilian icon Pele, he is considered as one of the greatest Ghanaian footballers of all-time.

Despite not winning the African Cup of Nations in Senegal 1992 in his prime, Abedi Pele won the CAF best player award three times in a row.

His exploits in Europe saw him win the UEFA Champions League with Marseille. Named as the maestro by his colleagues and fans due to his abilities, Joe Addo also considered him as the best Black Stars captain.

“Abedi was a great leader,best ever captain for me,he was trying to show us to be professionals but most people didn’t get it.He was better than all of us,he told Joy FM in an Interview.

Abedi Pele made 73 appearances for the Black Stars and scored 33 goals.
