The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Abronye DC has reacted to the ongoing saga about the Takoradi pregnant who was reported missing some days ago but was found recently after a thorough investigation.

Madam Josephine Panyin Mensah was found on Tuesday, 21st September after she was reported missing on Thursday, 16 September. The victim was said to have been 9-months pregnant before allegedly being kidnapped by some unknown persons.

However, an investigation conducted by the police suggests that the victim faked her disappearance as well as her pregnancy. She was said to have plotted her disappearance with three other people who are currently in police custody for questioning.

In reaction to that, the outspoken senator has called for a medical assessment of the woman who was believed to be pregnant at the time of her alleged kidnapping by the Medical and Dental Council.

This, he believes, will aid in determining whether the 28-year-old was actually pregnant as her family claimed.

On Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, he stated that the Council’s intervention will assist put the problem to rest and provide satisfaction to all parties.

“The Western Regional Minister has told us that medical examination by doctors at Axim indicates she was never pregnant but the family is saying otherwise“, he said.

“To help all of us, we can bring the issue to Accra since it has now become of national interest and on live tv, the Medical Council will conduct the examinations again for all of us to see the results,” he added.

Abronye also encouraged the police to broaden their field of investigation and allow neighbors and other associates who are familiar with the woman to testify as part of the probe.
