Adidas has confirmed that West Ham’s Kurt Zouma is no longer a contracted athlete following a disturbing video whi ck surfaced online which captured him physically assaulting his cat at home.

A video surfaced online which captured the footballer kicking his pet across his kitchen. The viral video meted harsh criticism on social media as many chided him for assaulting the cat.

Well, a statement released by Adidas reveals Kurt Zouma has been dropped as its contracted athlete.

“We have concluded our investigation and can confirm Kurt Zouma is no longer an Adidas contracted athlete,”

the statement said.

“No animal should be subject to cruel and unwarranted abuse,” the released statement added.

Kurt Zouma has shown remorsefulness for his actions but his two week wages estimated to be about £250,000 has been donated to animal welfare charities as the cat has been taken ni away from him by RSPCA.

However, the 27-year-old West Ham defender issued an apology but Essex Police confirmed urgent enquiries were underway in conjunction with the RSPCA.

The team has also chastised the player’s actions after the video emerged but backed manager David Moyes’ decision to start the player for the win against Watford on Tuesday night.

Moyes has said Zouma would remain available for selection while the club’s internal investigation ran its course.
