It was their second straight victory, having beaten Chelsea 3-1 at home two days ago.
Substitute Alexandre Lacazette was Arsenal’s hero, scoring 20 seconds after he came on.
He swept in Bukayo Saka’s ball for his third goal in three games to earn the Gunners their first back-to-back league wins since the start of the season.
Arsenal now have 20 points, eight behind the top four despite losing as many as eight games.
