Thomas Partey- who captained the Black Stars in absence of the suspended Dede Ayew to secure a World Cup qualification to Qatar after dumping Nigeria to the sole ticket in Abuja, has received a warm message from his club, Arsenal.

The combative midfielder gave Ghana the lead against Nigeria at the Moshood Abiola Sports Stadium in the 10th minute when his strike squeezed through the hands of the opposition keeper Francis Uzoho.

Although the Nigerians leveled up through a dubious penalty converted by Watford defender William Trost-Ekong after Ademola Lookman was adjudged to have been fouled in the box, Ghana still held on to advance on the away goal rule.

In view of this, Partey’s London club has congratulated him for the crucial goal he scored. They added a photo of the Black Stars team taking a group photo before one of their recent games along with their goodwill message.

Meanwhile his father Mr. Jacob Partey has told Angel TV stated that his son told him before the game that he was going to score to make all Ghanaians proud.

“I called my son when I heard on the news that the lights at the stadium in Abuja were off, he assured me that everything will be fine. I then prayed for him, that God should be with him. He respond to me that he was going to score and make us proud,” the proud father recouted.

Furthermore, other African countries that joined Ghana in the 2022 World Cup are Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco, and Cameroon. The draw for the tournament takes place on Friday 1 April 2022, at the DECC venue in Doha, Qatar at circa 5 pm BST.
