The Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is the New Patriotic Party’s sole hope heading into the 2024 elections, according to Daniel Bugri Naabu, the Paramount Chief of Namong Traditional Area in the North East area.
He thinks that with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in charge, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will win and Ghana will reap from his intelligence and resourcefulness as well.
“With Bawumia we win finish. I will say the five Northern Regions the NPP will take all. With Bawumia we will have block votes in the five regions but without Bawumia we will lose all. NDC has demonstrated already a Northerner has become the President, and CPP has done it,” he said in broken English Language.
He continued “John has nothing to offer Ghana because he has been Vice President and President for eight years. If he had something to give us he would have done it. Nobody will want John back to bring dumsor so Bawumia is the only option”.
The Vice President’s membership has recently come under fire, with some party members urging him to take a back seat because he is essentially new and should not even consider governing the nation because others have done so.
However, Bugri Naabu stated that such accusations should not be supported in an interview with Despite Media’s Peace FM.
He stated that the vice president was an NPP member even on the day of his birth and was born into the party.
“I hear somebody was describing as a stranger in the party. I don’t know of the person is actually well NPP man. Maybe he wants to break the party because how can you say Bawumia is a stranger? It’s wrong.
Bawumia’s father was NPP, he’s from where I come from so what are you telling us? Dombo was, Jedu Kalio, B.K Adama, Braimah…So what are you saying? Are you saying that Mumuni Bawumia…they were all in NPP. It was the Northern Peoples Party that moved to UP. What they are saying, if they don’t stop using those utterances it will provoke the North,” he said.
