Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski was crowned Uefa Player of the Year 2019-20 after an incredible season which saw him score 55 goals in 47 games.

The striker beat stiff competition from teammate Manuel Neuer and Manchester Kevin de Bruyne to the award.

The award was handed to him on Thursday at group stage for the Champions League.  His club coach Hansi Flick collected coach of the year award.

Lewandowski also received the Champions League forward if the year award. His teammates Manuel Neuer and Joshua Kimmich were named Champions League goalkeeper and defender of the year respectively.

Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne was named best midfielder in the competition.  

Bayern dominated the awards after a sensational season, winning five trophies. They could end the year with six trophies as they will be competing in the Club World Cup.
