Dzifa Gomashie of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has advised the youth to be mindful of what they share on social media.
Many people are used to using social media to express their opinions on National issues and also to condemn certain actions in Ghana. However, some persons also abuse the platforms by posting insults and attack people with different opinions.

Reacting to the abuse of social media, the former Deputy Minister for Creative Arts and Culture and current Member of Parliament for Ketu South Abla Dzifa Gomashie advised the youth to be cautious of what they post on social media and how they abuse it.

My dear “boys boys and girls girls”,
I have learned to be my own police. I allow the sturdy gaze of my conscience to guard me. I am ready for the consequences/repercussions of my actions and inactions.
I am extremely cautious about what I write on public pages. I don’t trust or believe that everyone who reads what I write or what I say receives it as it was meant or intended.
I hear you when you give me feedback but it is my duty to sieve through all that comes back to me. I make a conscious effort to pick what is useful to me and I lock up the rest in a vault. Perhaps one day the rest may become useful.
I know there are people who never forget a bad deed or a good deed. Some people never forget and have enough patience to wait to pay back so I choose my battles carefully.
I also know there are people whose loyalty cannot be relied on. People whose loyalty can be bought are on the prowl these days more than ever. People who carry the dagger used in killing those they should protect also abound.
Be measured with your outbursts! Be careful with what you are told to spew out, we may never know who empowered you to say them but we read you and hear you. You will face the consequences.

Did you know some embassies ask for your Social Media accounts to make a decision about your requests?. Do you know that someone knows someone you want a favor from and the person they consult may well be the person you took on unfairly?
Just make choices you will be proud of tomorrow, today. Today was built on yesterday and today will be gone but it is the foundation for tomorrow. Make it a damn good foundation. You owe it to yourself. Be wise as the serpent. Soar like an eagle on your own strong wings.
