The former Ghana Black Stars legend, Stephen Appiah has expressed his excitement and joy after the Ghana Black Stars secured their place in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after winning against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The Ghana Black Stars trounced the Nigerian Super Eagles in a World Cup qualification match in Abuja yesterday, Tuesday, March 29th, 2022. After a fantastic goal by Thomas Partey at the start of the first half, Ghana was able to earn the victory.

In the first half of the game, although, the Super Eagles were able to equalize thanks to a penalty kick shot by William Troost-Ekong.

Nigeria scored a second goal, but it was an offside goal, according to VAR. At the conclusion of the match, Ghana thrashed Nigeria’s Super Eagles to secure qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Some angry Nigerian fans who could not comprehend their loss took matters seriously as they stormed the stadium to protest against Ghana for their loss.

Well, Stephen Appiah has sent his congratulatory message to the boys for their spectacular performance in Abuja against Nigeria. He said that he believes most of the boys have not been to the World Cup before, hence this will be a very good opportunity for them to take that chance to play in the tournament.

He also applauded the Black Stars coach, Otto Addo for his wonderful leadership skills in shaping the boys for their game against Nigeria in just a short time.
