American football quarterback, Cameron Jerrell Newton was born on May 11th, 1989 in Atlanta in the United States of America.

He has 11 seasons of playing experience, mostly with the National Football League’s Carolina Panthers (NFL). He ranks second in quarterback running yards and first in quarterback rushing touchdowns in the NFL.

Prior to attending Auburn, Newton played collegiate football for Florida. As a junior, Newton won the Heisman Trophy and the 2011 BCS National Championship Game. The Panthers made him their first-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.

When Newton broke the rookie records for quarterback passing and rushing yards in his first season, he had a significant effect and was named offensive rookie of the year.

He is the younger brother of NFL center Cecil Newton and the son of Jackie and Cecil Newton Sr., a safety for the 1983 Dallas Cowboys and 1984 Buffalo Bills. In the middle of the 2010s, Caylin, his youngest sibling, played quarterback for the Howard Bison.

When he was younger, Newton was a gifted basketball and baseball player, but he acquired a phobia of getting hit by a pitch in baseball and struggled to stay out of foul trouble on the court.

He gave up basketball early in his high school career and baseball when he was 14 years old. Newton earned a sociology degree from Auburn University in 2015.
