Former Black Stars midfielder, Sulley Muntari won hearts at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday during Hearts of Oak match against Great Olympics.

Sulley Muntari made his appearance for the first time for Hearts of Oak after signing for the club.

Whilst coming onto the pitch from the bench as a substitute wearing the number 10 jersey, he was offered the captain band from the current captain but he declined the offer and urged the captain to continue playing the role of captain.

Indeed, Sulley Muntari showed maturity and class. The video was shared by popular sports journalist, Saddick Adams who described the move as a ‘class act’.

Meanwhile, Senegal emerged winners of the African Cup of Nations for the first time in their football history and their campaign in the 2021 AFCON has been a resounding one.

They delivered an impressive performance right from the start of the tournament to the end.

The finale between Senegal and Egypt ended on penalties with Senegal crashing out Egypt after the latter lost two of their shoot outs. Liverpool stars Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah faced each other off competitively but after the match was over, Mane went to comfort and hug Salah affectionately.

One of the outstanding players of the tournament was the Egyptian goalkeeper, Abou Gabaski who saved two penalties in their campaign to the finals and also saved Mane’s penalty kick at the finals.

Gabaski due to the pain from their defeat reportedly forgot to take his water bottle along with him and left it on the pitch. His ‘magical’ bottle had information on the Senegal penalty takers ascribed on it
