This comes shortly after the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta encouraged the youth to venture into entrepreneurship as the government cannot absorb them into the public sector.

Speaking on his behalf by a Deputy Minister of Education, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, at the 13th congregation of the University of Mines And Technology (UMaT) in Tarkwa on Saturday 20th November 2021, Dr. Bawumia revealed that the public sector can never close its doors to graduates who are seeking employment, but it will be advisable for them to venture into other lucrative venture in order to build a sound future for themselves.

He added that venturing into entrepreneurship will not only sustain their lives but would also contribute to the development of the country.

“Not only are you expected to be working in the public sector; you are equally expected to be drivers of the private sector. Some of you should start planning to begin your own businesses with knowledge gained from the training you have received, and possibly employ others,” he said.

“You should develop such positive traits as hard work, honesty, dedication, trustworthiness, and humility,” he added.

He also advised them that as they entered the workforce, they should seize all possibilities that presented themselves and position themselves to be important to society.
