On August 30, 2016, he made his first-team debut for the Blades, replacing Matt Done in the 63rd minute of an EFL Trophy group stage match at Bramall Lane that ended in a 0-0 tie with Leicester City U23.

The following match in the competition, a 2-1 home loss to Walsall, was when he made his debut for the team. Chris Coleman selected him for the Wales team four days later.
