Demon Slayer Characters

Tanjiro Kamado: Tanjiro Kamado is a fictional character and the protagonist of Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Beginning with the first episode, we meet Tanjiro Kamado, whose voice is provided by Zach Aguilar in English and Natsuki Hanae in Japanese. Tanjiro’s entire life is turned upside down when a demon turns his sister, Nezuko, into a demon, killing his family.

Tanjiro, driven by love for his sister and resentment toward the demons who have harmed his family, decides to join the Demon Slayer Corps in order to hunt down demons and, in the hopes of finding a way to turn his sister back into a human. As he begins to grasp the true nature of life, he must make an even more difficult choice in order to save his sister.

Nezuko Kamado: Nezuko, though not one of the Twelve Kizuki, is an extremely strong demon. In addition to her superhuman strength, regeneration, and ability to expand and shrink quickly, Nezuko also possesses the blood demon skill known as Exploding Blood (戆顀, Bakketsu), which causes her blood to burn as soon as it exits her body.

Demon Slayer’s debut episode introduces us to Neuko, a character with a tragic past that included the death of her parents due to a demon attack while her brother was away. The tragic aspect of it all is that, although not being slain, she was transformed into a monster. Nezuko was shown as a kind and kind girl prior to her transformation into a monster.

However, everything changed when she turned into a demon because she gained strength and followed her bloodlust.Nezuko is often alone because she became a demon, is mute, and is harmed by sunshine. But throughout the entire series, it’s still evident that she loves her brother.

Zenitsu Agatsuma: In the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba series, Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibara are the two tritagonists.

As a member of the Demon Slayer Corps, Zenitsu is a demon slayer. Even though Jigoro Kuwajima, his mentor, initially talked him into joining the Corps, Zenitsu eventually understands the value of the Demon Slayer Corps and gives the corps his wholehearted devotion in an effort to make up for Kuwajima’s role in giving him a purpose.

We can see that Hiro Shimono provided the character’s voice in Demon Slayer in Japanese, and it wasn’t until the fourth episode that we heard Aleks Le’s English rendition. Although Zenitsu Agatsuma is older than Tanjiro in this instance, he is shown to lack bravery and frequently flees from danger.

But because Jigoro Kuwajima taught him how to fight, he’s not that horrible at it.
The golden hue of Zenitsu’s eyes, his fair complexion, and the yellow hair that resulted from a lightning strike all contribute to his youthful appearance and attitude. Zenitsu’s jokes may not be to everyone’s taste, but they nevertheless contribute to the anime’s overall memorable quality.

Inosuke Hashibira: Inosuke is irritable, aggressive, harsh, and arrogant who along with Tanjiro Kamado’s and Nezuko Kamado are traveling buddy of Zenitsu Agatsuma.

We first encounter Inosuke Hashibira in the anime’s opening episode. He is voiced in Japanese by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and in English by Bryce Papenbrook. Inosuke is a fighter who enjoys engaging in combat without giving it any thought. He’s a skilled fighter, but his arrogance and arrogance sometimes lead him into problems. He gets into trouble for this, especially since he enjoys picking fights.

Inosuke was reared by boars, therefore his upbringing was unconventional. That’s the reason he dons a peculiar style of headwear. His upbringing makes it difficult for him to comprehend human emotions and traditions. But the more time he spends with the Demon Slayer Corps, the more he begins to learn and adapt, blending in with those around him.

Kanao Tsuyuri: Kanao is a little young girl with thick eyelashes framing her wide, lovely dark purple eyes. Originally serving as her adopted older sister Shinobu Kocho’s Tsuguko (successor), Kanao is a high-ranking member of the Demon Slayer Corps. She is an enigmatic girl who never stops grinning serenely, seldom ever speaks on her own, and frequently makes it difficult to understand how she feels.

We first encounter Kanao in the anime’s opening episode. Reina Ueda in Japanese and Brianna Knickerbocker in English provide her voices. Kanao has thin black hair pulled back in a ponytail and large, compassionate-looking pink eyes. She doesn’t want to make decisions, stays to herself, and seldom expresses her emotions as a result of a rough upbringing. Though little of her maturation is seen in the anime, she does begin to mature with time. She hasn’t been seen on screen much lately; her few appearances were in seasons two and three.

Genya Shinazugawa: Being one of the few characters in Demon Slayer without a breathing style technique, Genya Shinazugawa is one of the series’ most distinctive characters in terms of powers. To compensate for this, Genya had another talent that functioned as his primary strength: the capacity to absorb and gain power from demon flesh.

He could easily tear off and consume demon flesh because of his powerful jaw and unique digestive system. He momentarily acquires the traits and powers of demons after consuming them, which makes him stronger. In addition, he has the ability to regenerate powerfully and get an improved physical constitution.

Zeno Robinson provides Genya’s English voice in the anime series, while Nobuhiko Okamoto handles the Japanese voice. His tragic past includes witnessing his mother transform into a demon and murder his siblings until his brother Sanemi murders her. He makes an appearance in Episode 4.

Though he is unable to use breathing techniques, Genya is a formidable combatant capable of using demon abilities. Genya is initially difficult to become friends with due to his erratic behavior, especially in the beginning. However, as the narrative progresses, he begins to reveal more of himself, even though he still becomes irate with Tanjiro—particularly in the Swordsmith Village section.

Sanemi Shinazugawa: Sanemi is a character that we first encounter in episode number 22, which is the first one. He is voiced in English by Kaiji Tang and in Japanese by Tomokazu Seki. As the Wind Hashira, Sanemi is a powerful figure in the anime.

He had a difficult childhood that caused him to suppress his emotions and distance himself from others, including his brother Genya. He is resolved to battle demons with all of his strength because this tragic tragedy made him truly detest them.

Giyu Tomioka: Giyu is a character that we first encounter in the anime’s opening episode. He prefers to keep his thoughts to himself and doesn’t talk much. His sister died defending him from a monster when he was younger.

Giyu felt alone since others didn’t trust him when he tried to explain what had happened. Giyu is now revered by others as a member of the Demon Slayer Corps. Although he gives off an air of toughness and distance, he is not as self-assured as he seems.

Shinobu Kocho: Shinobu Kocho is presented as a personable and approachable Demon Slayer Corps member in the first episode. She enjoys making jokes and is usually grinning. Beneath her cheerful exterior, she harbors a deep hatred for demons, having lost her sister Kanae Kocho to them.

Shinobu is a rough and nasty person despite her outward kindness, especially while engaging in combat or conversing with adversaries. She’s skilled at smiling while using savage words to destroy even the most formidable opponents.

Tengen Uzui: The sorrowful tale of Tengen, the former Demon Slayer who is now known as the Sound Hashira, starts in anime episode 21. Growing up in a household of ninjas, he had severe training from his father and was duped into killing a few of his siblings. Tengen aspires to be different from his father and generally tries to do the right thing, despite his challenging past.

He seeks Aoi Kanzaki for assistance as he starts to worry about his wife’s safety while looking into the Entertainment District. Later on, though, he comes to understand the threat posed by a strong demon and chooses to put Tanjiro and his companions’ safety first.
