The Asian singer is very passionate about giving back to the community and reaching out to the less privileged ones. Out of his passion for philanthropy, he launched his own Charity foundation named The Aoki Foundation.

In 1995, he graduated from Newport Harbour High School, where he was a member of the varsity badminton team. He is the third child of Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kobayashi of Japanese origin. Aoki was also involved in student action at UCSB, where he founded a chapter of the Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League. By his early twenties, Aoki had established his own record label, Dim Mak, named after his childhood hero, Bruce Lee.
