The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has revealed the amount of money each Black Star player received for participating in the recently held African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

According to the governing body of Ghanaian football, each player of the Black Stars was given a whopping $20,000 as an appearance fee.

This has come to the surprise of many Ghanaians as Ghanaian believe no one in the team even deserves a dollar considering how shambolic they looked while on the field.

The revelation was made known by the Communications Director of the GFA, Henry Asante-Twum, in an interview with Accra-based radio station, Starr FM.

In his submission, he said;

“The players were paid $20,000 as appearance fee, they didn’t earn any bonus because they did not win a single game.”

It could be recalled that the Black Stars of Ghana failed to qualify from their group which has Morocco, Gabon, and Comoros.

The team did not even win one match as they lost to both Morocco and Comoros. They ended up with just a point which they got from their match against Gabon.

After their exit, the coach of the team was sacked and at the moment, a new coach is yet to be appointed.
